Wm warns H'ry off the lecture circuit, in advance of H'ry's trip to America:
"The whole lecture-business now-a-days, save where there is a stereopticon, or exhibition of facts not presentable as 'reading-matter,' or where the lecturer is an artist in his line and speaks without notes, is doomed to second-rateness....In your case particularly there would be a large audience, there simply to see your person, and hear your voice, and gossip about your peculiarities afterwards..."
H'ry lectured anyway...
