Alice's will divided her money unequally among her living brothers, favoring Wm and H'ry as Bob had a rich step-father. Wm offers advice as to what H'ry should do with his share:
"I do hope that you won't suffer one cent of Alice's capital to be invaded by yourself. You will need a good deal more than you are likely to have when your writing powers are cut short, as in the nature of things they must be some day if you live."
